The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce received a $5,000 donation from Lehigh Regional Medical Center it will go a long way to helping the community improve its image, said Chamber Chairman Mike Burgers, he went to say, Wow! That’s a surprise. We didn’t expect that.
Lehigh Acres did not have a local parade in 2016 due to the cost of the parade, $5000.
Instead of promoting local businesses on Homestead Rd during our annual parade the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce will spend the money on one single float a pay to enter it into the Edison Festival of Light Parade in Ft Myers.
Gary Bell, CEO of Lehigh Regional, said they want to be part of the community. It’s not just about taking, it’s about giving.
They hope the positive publicity will boost spirits and the local economy.
We can grow this community, come together again as a good organization and just make this a better community, Bell said.
