Fire Chief John Wayne wants the Fire Board to purchase two new 2016 E-One Custom Rescue Pumpers on Typhoon Chassis.
This has been set an agenda item on Tuesday April 26 meeting at Station 104 on Sunshine Blvd at 5pm.
A so called selection committee selected Hall-Mark RIC and the 2016 E-One Custom Rescue Pumper on a Typhoon chassis as the best to meet the District’s needs.
This selection committee has NO members of the community on it. It totally made up of Firefighters, Union members, and Lehigh Fire Administration. Again no over sight by the board or the community.
A proposal was received on March 29, 2016 from Hall-Mark RIC utilizing the open Florida Sheriff’s Association contract, FSA-16-VEF12.0.
The cost provided for the Fire District’s specifications is $503,739 per Pumper.
The delivery of the Pumpers would take 285 days after receipt of purchase order by Hall-Mark RIC.
Just in the past days the Fire Department has been receiving their new fleet of three new ambulances costing the taxpayers nearly $750,000.
