The 15-year-old who Lee County sheriff’s deputies say who admitted starting a brush fire in Lehigh Acres appeared in court Thursday morning.
Kaiden Paolino was arrested Wednesday and remains in custody after a judge put a 21-day juvenile hold on him, which means he must remain in jail and return to court in three weeks on a felony arson charge.
The fire erupted Wednesday afternoon and some hotspots remain, though the damage is done for a family whose home was burned to the ground. More than 50 acres of forest was burned in addition to the home.
Firefighters and equipment remain on the scene Thursday to address hotspots and make sure a fire doesn’t reignite.
