Increased Rents Will Be Happening in Presbyterian Homes

Chief John R. Wayne Lehigh Acres Fire Dept

If Presbyterian Homes files suit against Lehigh Acres Fire Department we have no other recourse then to increase the monthly rents an additional $26 per month, said Attorney Joseph A. DiVito, of DiVito, Higham & Vasti out of St. Petersburg, who represents Presbyterian Homes in an email to The Lehigh Acres Gazette.

The average rents for unsubsidized rents range from $299 to $494 per month.

Some of the Fire Commissioners and the Fire Chief made comments about Presbyterian Homes during the last Fire Board meeting in March 2016 showing how thoughtless they really are.

Commissioner Carte said, “It’s going to be like Pandora’s Box if we allow this – They (Presbyterian Homes) is not religious center”

But the Fire Board did exempt Lehigh Community Services and they are not religious center.

Commissioner Kruse said, “They only pay 10 or 20 dollars’ month for rent – Tax Assessment will not increase their rents.”

But of these statements are not true – No one according to records provided by Presbyterian Homes to the Lehigh Acres Gazette pay’s only 10 or 20 dollars’ month for rent. And for the Fire Fee Assessment an increase is about to happen.

Commissioner Becker said, “They are not providing the correct health to the residents”

Presbyterian Homes does NOT provide health care. According to Attorney Divito, “Presbyterian Homes is independent living facility NOT an assisted living facility we do not prove health care.”

Chief Wayne during the meeting was complaining about the number EMS calls to Presbyterian Homes that the LAFD make a month, “over 20 calls a month” said Wayne. “The calls are to this assisted living facility”, said Wayne. And Wayne goes on to say this faculty and other like it are cash cows.

Wayne is such as narcissist he doesn’t understand the purpose or the need of Presbyterian Homes in Lehigh Acres. Since Chief Wayne believes Presbyterian Homes needs to pay the Fire Fee Assessment  and the board has no backbone, that’s right NO BACKBONE, to stand up and do the right thing for very low income seniors in Lehigh Acres.

So when is this fire board and chief going to wake up before or after they send thousands of your tax dollars in defending a fire fee assessment that is hurting the community to the core?
