Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying and tracking down an armed robber who held up a Sunoco gas station early this morning.
Just after 3 a.m., a black male, donned in camouflage clothing, with a red bandana over his face, entered the Sunoco, located at 2311 Buckingham Road. The man brandished a silver handgun, and pointed it at two female employees, demanding that they open the cash registers. In fear for their lives, they complied, and the man grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash. Before leaving, the suspect told the women if they called 9-1-1, he would kill them. He then left on foot, headed southbound on Buckingham Road, possibly to a waiting vehicle parked near Winn Dixie.
