Lehigh Acres will become our first of 5 mobile diaper banks here in SWFL.
Beginning the first Tuesday in April, Destiny Diaper Bank will focus on our low-income senior residents of Lehigh Acres that are in need of adult incontinent supplies (diapers). These seniors are among our most fragile and vulnerable populations in our area.
This will help:
A senior in Lehigh to be able to pick up her own supplies. Last month she had to sell her food stamps to someone to pay for their gas to pick up in Ft. Myers.
A senior return to being able to volunteer because she now has enough supplies to make the changes each day to stay dry.
The family of a 96 year old mother that needs a lot of supplies due to health challenges.
A man find work and not be afraid that he will have an accident on the job.
A senior that loves her independence but is afraid to leave home because she cannot afford all of the supplies to be able to make the changes that she needs to be able to feel safe while riding the bus.
To qualify as a senior
Resident of Lehigh Acres (photo ID)
Proof of Medicaid or Food Stamps, or Access determination letter, or referral from a local eldercare agency
Prescription from your healthcare provider or referral from local eldercare agency stating incontinence and need of diapers or supplies.
To register for the diapers (incontinence supplies).
