A fatal head-on crash occurred in Lehigh Acres Thursday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at the intersection of Leeland Heights Boulevard and Greenwood Avenue.
The eastbound lanes of Leeland Heights Blvd. have been blocked.
One witness on the scene says that one of the drivers had to be extricated by Lehigh Acres Fire Dept with the Jaws of Life.
Witness also said a dog died at the scene.
Eye Witnesses also stated that the driver of the silver Chevrolet Camaro had nearly struck several vehicles on Leeland Heights Blvd. prior to crossing the center line and hitting a Nissan Sentra head-on. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Lee Memorial as a traumatic alert.
The roadblock will be closed for a while as FHP investigates.
