In January, The General Woman’s Club of Lehigh Acres, celebrated their 55th Anniversary. Between the months of September through May, the members meet at different events to raise funds to award scholarships to single parents and to donate to various Lehigh organizations such as the Lehigh Community Services and HOPE. At the celebration over 45 members came to The Hut to celebrate and honor all the members and all past presidents.
In the above picture we have from left to right Mr. John Strickling, of HOPE Healthcare Services, Ms. Rae Nicely of Lehigh Community Services, Ms. Joan Cunningham, Lehigh Chamber of Commerce Interim Director, Ms. Lynn Beck, past president, Ms. Betty Stickle past president, Ms. Bobbi Slanker, past president, and Ms. Aura Wilson, current president from 2014-2016, who made this event possible.
Ms. Aura Wilson, read the names of all presidents which were honored, including the following who were not able to attend and have also had an important role in the success of the Club. They are Ms. Nancy McDyer, Ms. Norma Johnson, Ms. Loretta Milligan and Ms. Sue Thompson.
