A North Fort Myers man faces multiple weapon charges after a shooting incident at a Lehigh Acres gas station Wednesday night.
Witnesses told The Lehigh Acres Gazette they spotted a man shooting as cars were passing by on Lee Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m.
“That was the worst experience I’ve had in my life…seeing a guy shooting people out of nowhere,” said the witness.
One man flagged down a nearby deputy and told him the man had just fired a round into his window.
The victim was able to point out the suspect who happened to be walking toward the 7-Eleven, located at the corner of Lee Boulevard and Gunnery Road.
While standing with the victim, the deputy said he observed the suspect fire a round into the gas station’s metal roof over the service area.
The deputy requested backup before approaching the suspect who stumbled and fell as he approached the store, according to the arrest report.
The deputy then hit the suspect with a Taser gun and took him into custody. He was identified as 49-year-old John Hall.
The deputy said Hall was holding a revolver in his right hand and a semi-automatic handgun in his left hand.
Hall was transported to Lehigh Regional for treatment due to an injury believed to be from his firearm, then charged by the Lee County Sheriff Department.
