It’s that ghoulish time of year again, when “A Cast ofCarnival Freaks” roams freely at the Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium in Fort Myers.
SW Florida residents have come to expect the most incredible fright of their life during Haunted Walk at CNCP. This year won’t disappoint with “Freaks of Nature” prowling the grounds just as you walkby. Be sure to dress up in your finest freaky getup; if you blend in maybe you’ll be safe! Dates are October 16-17 and Oct 23-31, 7:30pm each night. TICKETS ARE $10.00 PER PERSON/$5 FOR MEMBERS. AVOID THE LINE THIS YEAR: Ticket sales start on October 12, 2015 online at www.calusanature.org.
Not just for kids, free with regular admission ($10 per adult and $5 forkids) there is a kid-friendly version known as the Friendly Forest. There will be games, crafts and candy to delight our littlest visitors up to about age ten. Costumes are expected. Dates are October 24th-25th from 11:00am –4:00pm.
The Haunted Walk and Friendly Forest aren’t just community events welook forward to each year. They are the Calusa Nature Center &Planetarium’s biggest fundraiser. The money raised keeps our doors openfor another year of “Connecting People with Nature”.
The Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium is a private, not for profit, environmental education organization located in Fort Myers, Florida. Our105 acre site has a museum, three nature trails, a Planetarium, butterfly andbird aviaries, a gift shop and meeting and picnic areas. The Museum’sinterpretive displays address many issues affecting our area, from waterresources to the plight of the endangered manatee. The stars are alwaysout in our Planetarium, the only one south of Bradenton and west of theMiami! Check the Planetarium pages for astronomical happenings and otherspecial events.
