Doug Patterson is Featured Artist of the Month at Lehigh Regional

Arts of the Inland member Doug Patterson is the featured artist for September at Lehigh Regional Medical Center Café, 1500 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres.   He is a 76 year old self taught artist who returned back to art work about six years ago. Doug works mainly in acrylics but enjoys pencil and water color on paper as well as craft work using wine bottles, palm fronds, wine corks and copper. He also enjoys introducing children to art.  He was one of 150 volunteers to paint outside murals on the walls at the Child Care of Southwest Florida.

He joined the Arts of the Inland at its conception and is a member of Arts for the Alliance.  In the last couple of years Doug has tried his hand at acting at the Firehouse Community Theatre with roles in three plays and he’s assisted in doing stage settings and designs.

He and his wife Linda live at Majestic Golf Club, Lehigh; and together they own and run PATTERSON ART and Patterson Art Presents.

The Arts of the Inland in collaboration with the Lehigh Regional Medical Center bring this Gallery to the public at no charge.  AOI member Donna Thewlis is responsible for receiving and hanging art, and contacting artists for our Featured Artist of the Month at the Medical Center.     If you are an AOI member and would like to participate, please contact her at 239-339-7265.

Featured Artist at AOI Barron Park House Gallery

Bayard Horn is September’s featured artist at the Arts of the Inland (AOI) Barron Park House Gallery, 471 N. Lee Street, LaBelle.   Bayard studied art at Kutztown State College and at the University of Delaware.  He is a contemporary artist whose work moves towards abstraction.  He received an Honorable Mention award at the Arts of the Inland’s “Inspirations “ Art Show held in April 2015.  Bayard’s works can be seen at the gallery during the month of September and throughout the year.

The Barron Park House Gallery is open to the public Thursdays & Fridays from Noon – 6 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays from 11 am. – 4 p.m.
