  1. I for one will vote no for incorporation any chance I get and urge others to do the same. Who wants to be shaken down for more money by higher taxes and more code enforcement and rules that are created just to make revenue from violations. You can move to Cape Coral if you want that.

    1. I don’t know where you get your facts from. We recently had are taxes raised by the fire board and Lee county hired 10 new code enforcement agents to file liens for anything like lot mowing liens on vacant land, having a commercial vehicle in your yard. These things have already taken place and who gets the money? Not Lehigh of course. So before you go spreading information you know nothing about do a little research. The reason for incorporation is to better the community. The older generation is the real reason for what is going on Lehigh today. Because they are closed minded Lehigh has grown into the highly populated community that we are today and we have not been able to grow with it because of people like yourself holding us back.

  2. Incorporation…leave well enough alone. We are being strangled with government now…………do we really need more government and it’s expense??? Remember government is overhead.

  3. Every time someone mention Incorporate Lehigh Acres some old fart will go viral. Don’t you all know that you are paying more taxes now than if you become a city. There are plenty of monies out there that the COUNTY benefit and YOU ALL pay on a silver platter and nothing returns back to your town. In Fact, Incorporating might even lower your taxes. Do me a favor OLD Farts, before you speak like that, do the math and look at the numbers. There are studies out there suggests that incorporating Your town is better for your town. Stop the shananga…By the way, I lived there for years and not only I left your town (not to Cape Coral) but out of the state is because of people like you. Last moth we passed by Pluto and you guys can get it together. I think it’s time for all of you to leave, and let the new generation take over. Kudos!!! to those who are working on the incorporation effort.

    1. I can’t agree more. It’s the old timers that want to play politics that are running Lehigh into the ground. I think the more young people that get involved it will help push the old negative perception of Lehigh out.

      1. Not really, I had a good opportunity offer couple years ago, and my contract will be over by Thanksgiving. I will return and will join those who are working on the incorporation. And no, did not move with my old farts because they passed away long time ago.

  4. My husband and myself are college educated working professional who have lived in Lehigh Acres for almost 10 years. Lehigh has an awful reputation within Lee County yet it is truly a beautiful place to live! Homes are not close together, it is affordable, and it has a vibrancy of young families that many other areas in Lee County lack. We will be voting for incorporation! We need to add to our infrastrucure and services! Lehigh is growing and the tax base from the County does not funnel back to us! We need to pave our own way or we will be left behind! Wake up, it is not about taxes; its about making the money we ALREADY pay work for us here in our town!

    1. I couldn’t agree with you more. I have lived here my entire life and am now raising my kids here. We need more people like you that understands the benefits of incorporation. I don’t have all the facts yet but am helping to get them. We do lose money and that’s a big issue. We need to take control of our community. We need to be able to get every dollar that we can to better our future city. The main problem has been the lack of educating the citizens including myself and my generation 25-45. Thanks for the support.

  5. In my opinion, I’m not getting my money’s worth here in Lehigh. The only good road, Lee Blvd, leads straight to Fort Myers and every time I have to drive toHome Depot, Lowe’s, Golden Corral or my Doctor (whose practice has an office on Lee Blvd but she “won’t drive here”), along go my tax dollars. I want business, shopping and entertainment opportunities HERE. I want better roads HERE. I want more services HERE and above all, I want more people to want to come HERE! SWFL is a Tourist driven economy and unless we get on the Bandwagon we’re going to be left behind. Through the newly formed LA-MSID the County will eventually take over Lehigh Acres. The neighborhoods look trashy because people want their Cars, Trucks, Boats, Trailers, Garbage cans and assorted paraphernalia in their front yards. Have some RESPECT for your Community! Show some PRIDE. I’ve been trying to have the corner of Williams and Village Lakes cleaned up for a year. The road looks like it leads to a LANDFILL! Twice the County passed it off. Nobody will deal with it because there’s no real property (read) nothing to lien. Is THIS how you want our Community to be treated? Self respect starts with ME.
