Customers were evacuated from a Lehigh Acres shopping plaza Friday due to a gas leak.
It happened at a shopping center in the 4300 block of Lee Boulevard.
Employees tell us the gas smell was coming from the Crispy Chicken restaurant.
Lehigh Acres Fire Department responded to the scene, and nearby businesses was evacuated while the building was inspected.
LAFD officials say a small amount of natural gas was detected, but not enough to cause concern.
Crews from a gas company are working with the business to make sure there isn’t a leak.
The Crispy Chicken restaurant remains closed. All other businesses in the strip mall were reopened, and customers were allowed back inside.
