Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying an unknown white male who tried to rob a Lehigh Acres Citgo gas station at gunpoint Wednesday night.
A store employee told detectives that around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, a white male driving a white extended dually truck pulled up to the Citgo, located at233 Joel Boulevard. The unknown male was wearing a mask, black gloves and brandished a black firearm. In fear for his life, the store’s employee locked the front door to prevent the suspect from entering the business. While trying to make entry, the suspect continued to yell at the employee, pointing the gun at him through the window, and demanding that he open the door. The suspect eventually retreated to his truck, which is described as having a tank in the bed of the truck, with two hoses on the passenger side and what appears to be a siphoning handle on the driver’s side rear cabin.
