Lehigh Acres Teen Takes
First Place in Karaoke

Written by Kevin Gourley

A karaoke contest to support the Relay for Life foundation was hosted at Foster’s Grill in the Gulf Coast Town Center between 7pm-10pm Friday night. Contestants paid a $10 entry fee to sing.  There were about 35 entries total.

With so much talent of various ages turning out to sing, it was a tough decision for the judges. It was the powerful vocals of sixteen-year-old Honisty Smith of Lehigh Acres, however, that walked away with first place after performing a rendition of Martina McBride’s “Broken Wing.”

After the awards, Honisty generously donated a portion of her winnings back to the Relay for Life fund.

Congratulations, Honisty Smith!
