The COPS TV show is back in Lee County and Lehigh Acres.
The crew has been with the LSCO department for eight weeks.
Crews don’t need much a camera, the microphones, the officers, and the people.
“You never know what’s going to happen. It’s unpredictable. You’re dealing with the raw reality on the streets,” COPS producer Morgan Langley said.
Langley says the show is also meant to show the hard work of our officers. This comes during a crucial time of debates. The conversations are happening nationwide. They involve ways to improve the relationship between officers and the people they serve.
There are currently about a dozen crews throughout the nation. Three were in Lee County. The Fort Myers Police Department has one. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is hosting two production crews.
Now this time, these officers get to see themselves and their co-workers doing what they love in the place they love.
The first episode this upcoming season is scheduled to air tonight.
Get ready to watch our deputies in action on Spike TV’s “COPS” at 8 p.m.
