Lee County Sheriff deputies are investigating after a body was found on the side of the road Wednesday evening east of SR-82 in Lehigh Acres.
Someone called 911 after discovering the body around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Banning Street and Anza Avenue. Deputies arrived on scene and began canvasing the area and collecting evidence.
The body has been removed from the scene, and an autopsy will now be performed. Deputies have not said if the death is suspicious or not.
We spoke to neighbors in the area who said they didn’t hear or see anything.
