Honorary Chair of the
Relay For Life Recognized

At Relay for Life Mike Mason read this about Jeanne Nadeau the Honorary Chair of the Relay For Life Lehigh Acres 2015

Jeanne Nadeau

Tonight we want to honor one of our very own committee members, Jeanne Nadeau who is currently in her sixth fight against cancer.  She was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 22 and is currently fighting her sixth battle against this horrible disease.

Jeanne joined the Air Force in 1975 and proudly served for 8 years.  She continued her Law Enforcement career in Massachusetts.  From then, she moved to Miami where she continued to be in Law Enforcement/Code Enforcement.  She finally settled here in Lehigh Acres and proudly serves our community through many programs at the American Legion Post 323.  She has been a member of the American Legion for the past 10 years and held several leadership roles in that time.  Jeanne currently holds two positions within District 13 – Sergeant at Arms and Membership Chairman and for Unit 323 Auxiliary she is parliamentarian.  Previously she was the 1st Vice President and VA&R and community service chairman.  She has cooked many meals for veterans and the worked with the homeless starting “Project Suds” in our community.  She is always the first to volunteer to greet a veteran and the first to welcome home a veteran.  She is a lifetime member of the VFW and the DAV.

In May of 2013 she was medically forced to retire and since that time she has spent many countless hours serving our community.  She is heavily involved in helping the homeless and the veterans of our community as well as part of the American Legion Riders Chapter 323 and she has been Patriot Guard Rider since 2008.
