I am Connor Blais a Life Scout with Troop 720, Lehigh Acres. I will be hosting a fundraising dinner at the Knights of Columbus, today, Friday May 8. I am currently working on my Eagle project, to provide 5000 needy Lehigh school students with backpacks. I have partnered with the Lehigh Community Services, a non -profit organization. Last year, they were able to give away approximately 300. I am aware of being in competition with Ft Myers, but I asked myself “Why should Lehigh students have to travel 20 miles to wait in line only to find out they either ran out or closed the doors”.
I would like to see our community pull together for this project. An Eagle project is meant for community and leadership. Right now, I really need the community to come together and help me raise the funds needed to support our future…..the students of Lehigh.
