On March 15, 2015 at approximately 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to 1113 Plumosa Avenue, Lehigh Acres, in reference to a home invasion. Due to the nature of the incident, detectives from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.
The preliminary investigation reveals the grandparents of an infant girl were watching her when multiple assailants burst into the residence. The grandfather, Hemchand Bhagwandin, 68 and grandmother, Sabitree Bhagwandin, 66 were violently attacked. Hemchand Bhagwandin died during the attack.
Major Crimes Unit detectives are on scene and are diligently working the case.
