DaVita Way of Giving: Dialysis
Centers Give Back to Communities

DaVita Kidney Care, the kidney care division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA) and a leading provider of kidney care services, announced a $1,000 contribution to Hope Hospice.

On Nov. 21, 2014, DaVita Lehigh Acres Dialysis presented Hope Hospice with a $1,000 check as part of the “DaVita Way of Giving,” the company’s locally focused charitable giving initiative, which is distributing more than $1 million to help nonprofit organizations throughout the United States grow and thrive.

Hope Hospice is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on comfort and quality of life through medical, emotional and spiritual care and support. DaVita teammates chose to donate to Hope Hospice because the organization has helped several of Lehigh Acres dialysis patients and families cope with life changing diseases.

“We wanted to show our thanks to Hope Hospice for the support and care that they have given our patients. Kim Boone, our licensed clinical social worker, and I both have family members who have benefited from the support and specialized care that Hope Hospice provided, “ said Kathie Sherman, a DaVita Facility Administrator.

Heather Chester of Hope Hospice said the DaVita contribution will go a long way to support its mission.

“The support we receive from the community is instrumental in making our mission of providing exceptional care to our patients and their families possible. We are very grateful.” said Chester.

DaVita, a leading provider of kidney care services committed to improving the quality of life for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), is dedicated to spreading ripples of citizen leadership through its Trilogy of Care – Caring for Patients, Caring for Each Other and Caring for the World.
