Rotary Club Thanks Lehigh Acres

The Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres would like to express its sincerest gratitude to the community of Lehigh Acres for the support given to its Inaugural “Scream on the Green” Haunted Walk event held on October 23-25, 30, & 31st. Victims were guided through the haunted golf course and along the treacherous path that grounds keeper Al Kilya led 10 golfers down. The golfers never returned and haven’t been seen since that fateful Halloween Night long ago. Their journey took them through the eerie cold and damp abandoned cemetery and travel by the creepy old house, rumored to once belong to Al Kilya.

The price of admission was reasonably priced at $3 per person. $1 Off admission when you bring a can of food. The food collected was donated to Lehigh Community Services’ Food Pantry. Because of our communities generosity we collected over 1,000 pounds of canned food for Lehigh Community Services’ Food Pantry during the nights of “Scream on the Green.”

A very special thank you goes to East Lee County High School. Their Interact Club and JROTC cadets are the zombies, ghosts, goblins, and ghouls. They also handle the parking. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! We couldn’t do this without you. Please support East Lee County High School’s events every chance you get.

The Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Club kicked off Halloween night with a “Trunk N Treat” during Rotary’s “Scream on the Green”. The little ghost and goblins wasted no time filling their sacks. Then off they rushed to visit the Haunted Walk. The Kiwanis sponsored Key Club from Lehigh Senior High was on hand to help with the “Trunk N Treat”.

We would also like to thank our sponsors who made “Scream on the Green” possible; LCEC, J.P. Murphy, Inc., Copperhead Golf Club, News-Press Media Group, Coldwell Bankers – Preferred Properties, Goodlad Insurance Group, East Side Printing & Publishing.

Look for next year’s “Scream on the Green” to be BIGGER & BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU LEHIGH ACRES, Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres
