Donna Thewlis, artist and writer, is the featured artist for the month of November at Lehigh Regional Medical Center, 1500 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres. Stop in from November 5th until December 2nd to see this talented artist’s beautiful artwork at the hospital cafeteria Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Ms. Thewlis is a member of Arts of the Inland (AOI) and is an award-winning artist from Lehigh. She won 2nd Place in the recent AOI Perceptions Art Show for her artwork “Yaaawow” and Honorable Mention for her piece “Peek-a-boo” in the AOI Inspirations Art Show held April 6, 2014 in Lehigh. Donna works in various mediums including using powdered minerals on porcelain then firing the piece several times in a kiln. This art form has roots in ancient China and is still alive today. She belongs to several porcelain painting organizations throughout Florida. Donna is also a writer.
