In Canal, Attacked By Alligators

The 92-year-old man that was pulled from a Lehigh Acres canal on Monday accidentally drowned, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Hurbert Hoyke was found by deputies floating in a canal behind his residence.

Hoyke had injuries consistent with alligator attacks. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, they occurred after he died.

Loyke was a seasonal resident from Ohio.
