Monthly Picnic for Homeless

On Friday, October 10, 2014, the American Legion Post #323 of Lehigh Acres held its monthly picnic for the homeless and low income veterans in the area.  Committee Chairman, David Wilson shared a meal, conversation and camaraderie.  With the help of friends from the Joel Boulevard 7-Eleven, the local VFW and likeminded persons, we were able to provide food and personal hygiene items to ease their daily needs.

The picnic is held the second Friday of every month at 11:30am at the American Legion, 1124 Ashlar Avenue, Lehigh Acres. If you are or know of a homeless veteran, or a veteran who needs help, please contact David Wilson at the American Legion Post #323, phone (239) 369-3178.
