On July 26th, 2014, at approximately 9:30 P.M., Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Luxxor Games, 3114 Lee Boulevard, in Lehigh Acres. Due to the nature of the call, detectives with the Robbery and Auto Theft Unit assumed the investigation.
Witnesses state that two black males entered the business. One was armed with a handgun and upon entry, fired one round into the ceiling. The other male grabbed an employee and demanded money from the business. Both subjects were able to exit the building with cash from the business.
Through an extensive and lengthy investigation, detectives were able to develop a suspect. On August 11th, 2014, a search warrant was signed for 2706 Ansel Ave. S. in Lehigh Acres. Upon serving the search warrant, 5.8 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) was located. Walter Emanuel Ross was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
As a result of continued investigation and evidence obtained both at the scene and at the Ansel Ave. address, detectives were able to develop probable cause to arrest Walter Emanuel Ross for Armed Robbery. Because Ross was already in custody for other charges, the charges were served to him at the Lee County Jail.
