Toddler Hospitalized
After Near-Drowning

A young girl, two-years-old, is in good condition at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Fort Myers. It happened at a home off 11th Street West — just north of Lee Boulevard.

Sources tell us the family of the little girl and her siblings were all having dinner by the pool. At some point, the girl started swimming after she ate.  We’re told the parents turned their back for just a second. When they turned back around, they realized the girl was in distress.

The girl’s parents immediately started performing CPR and were able to revive their daughter enough to be airlifted to the hospital.

Neighbors say the family just moved into the neighborhood about a month ago. They say they would hear kids playing out by the pool.

Investigators from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office left the scene around 10 p.m. However, investigators from the Department of Children and Families may be back out on Saturday.
