The Fire union that covers the Lehigh Acres Fire Department voted June 26, 2014 to endorse and support Commissioner Linda Carter and Commissioner Jackie Danis without connecting the others candidates. They also said per their website have endorsed the Lehigh Acres fire assessment. Click here to their endorsements.
Matt Smith who is running against Danis said he sent a letter to the leadership of Local 1826 and is hoping to have a meeting with them soon.
