Bryant Perrella’s victory wasn’t as quick as his previous two fights, but he methodically broke down Cristian Steele to the body before ending the fight with a knockout in the second round to stay undefeated at 6-0 Friday night.
Nicknamed Good Fella, the Lehigh Acres resident dropped Steele twice in the second with vicious body shots. Then Perrella finished off Steele by going up top to drop him a third time. The referee stopped the fight at 2 minutes, 18 seconds of the second round.
It was Perrella’s third victory since April, with his other two wins coming by first-round knockout.
Before Perrella came out to Indio for the fight, he paid a visit to his uncle Tommy Perrella, who was in declining health. The last words Tommy said to his nephew was, “Blast him.”
Tommy died Wednesday as Bryant Perrella was flying into Indio.
