A Better Perspective

If you have ever driven in a large city, you know how congested traffic can be.  When you are stuck in traffic, you have no idea what is going on, how long it will last or how to get out!  In many major cities, commuters are able to tune into a radio stations that give traffic reports.  These reports often come from helicopters that are flying over the city. Traffic helicopters have the ability to see the whole picture.  Their elevated position enables them to locate a problem and offer alternate routes to avoid the problem.

Life is like a commute.  There are times when everything is easy and flowing, while other times seem congested, difficult and extremely frustrating.  When we negotiate life from a ground-level perspective we are limited in what we see.  We start something at the wrong time, make some wrong turns and find ourselves stuck in the middle of a big problem.

There is a better way to live life.  Why not tune your channel to someone who has an elevated perspective.  Who better than God?  Let’s be perfectly honest, no one is higher than Him or can see the big picture like Him.  In fact, God makes the same offer to us that He made to King David. David had made a terrible choice that created a great deal of pain for him, his family and so many others.  He was in a state of spiritual and emotional confusion.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8

Clearly, He is more than willing to help us.  The question is, are we willing to cooperate? Let’s avoid wrong turns and big problems by trusting the One with the big picture perspective!
