Jerold Lester Collis passed away at his home in Lehigh Acres on May 14th was born in Owosso, Michigan on June 11, 1965 to James Collis and Phyllis Baer. Jerry grew up in Lake Havasu City, AZ and attended high school there. He then obtained college credits at the University of Nebraska.
In the early 1990’s, Jerry moved to Florida where he was employed as an ambulance dispatcher for several years and also worked as a business analyst. He was currently attending Hodges University studying psychology.
Jerry is survived by his partner, Robinson Almanzar of Lehigh Acres; his father, James Collis; mother, Phyllis Baer; sisters: Debbie Phillips, Diane Grupe, and Doreen Moschcau, all of Arizona; and brother, Jimmy Collis of Wisconsin.
Though Jerry experienced numerous health related issues through the years, he nevertheless kept a positive outlook on life and showed a great deal of empathy for others. He was always ready to assist people in any way he could and he will be greatly missed by his friends.
A memorial service will be held at Anderson-Patterson Funeral Home, 2701 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres, FL at 4 pm on Monday, May 26. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to your local humane society.
