Lehigh Acres Community Initiative which brings people together to build and sustain vibrant communities, announced today the launch of the 16th annual Great American Cleanup.
Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement program that kicks off each spring and engages more than 4 million volunteers in more than 20,000 communities nationwide.
Lehigh Acres Community Initiative along with other organizations in Keep America Beautiful’s national network of community-based affiliates, are planning volunteer events and experiential environment education programs structured to clean shorelines and waterways, reduce waste and increase recycling, remove litter and debris among other events to inspire generations of environmental stewards.
About Lehigh Acres Community Initiative: A grassroots organization that began in 2008 with a handful of concerned residents that wanted to promote change to make Lehigh Acres a safer more beautiful place to live, work and play. The organizations growth has allowed partnerships with many local, state and federal agencies and organizations to accomplish the goals of reducing crime, educating and empowering our youth, beautify our neighborhoods and bring back the community concept for all residents of the Greater Lehigh Acres area.
