Firefighters as far away as Cape Coral took down a 19 acre brush fire threatening homes this evening.
Some homes in the area of 9th Street and Louis Avenue were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire is now 100 percent contained. Florida Forest Service officials said the blaze is considered suspicious at this time.
Crews will remain on scene for the next several hours to watch any hot spots.
