Fourth Annual STEMtastic
Showcase Saturday, April 5th

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and The School District of Lee County will present a STEMtastic Showcase on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Lee County Public Education Center, 2855 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33966. In an effort to introduce students and their parents to the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), students in grades K-12 will have the opportunity to visit hands-on exhibits, meet local scientists, and engage in STEM activities. Last year, more than 2,000 students attended the showcase with their parents.

“For our children to be competitive in the global marketplace, it is imperative that they pursue an education rich in STEM-related courses so they can pursue careers in the STEM jobs of today and tomorrow,” said Marshall T. Bower, President and CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “STEMtastic exposes them to both STEM education and career opportunities.”

The STEMtastic Showcase will have ongoing activities in the four hallways of the Lee County Public Education Center. Tables, exhibits, virtual classrooms, outdoor and indoor activities, and computer labs will be set up so students can learn more about the various subject areas. Local businesses are invited to participate. For more information, please call The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools at 239-337-0433.
