Lehigh Concert Band to perform two FREE St. Patrick’s Day concerts
The Lehigh Concert Band will perform Sunday March 16 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. Lehigh Acres and Thursday March 20 at 6:30 P.M. at the Lehigh Spring Festival on Homestead Road, Lehigh Acres. The events are free of charge, though donations are accepted. The Band members are retired teachers and military, as well as part time musicians from all walks of life that get together to have a good time and bring Lehigh Acres its own town band experience.
This concert will feature selections like O Danny Boy, Blue Tango, Irish Medley, and an audience sing along of two of the most favorite Irish songs. The band will perform many upbeat concert pieces including a medley of ABBA hits and Willie Nelson songs. The performance will also feature the Lehigh Sax Sensations.
Calling all musicians.
Come blow your own horn. If you play an instrument at a high school or college level or above the Band is welcoming new members and has started rehearsals for this season. The band is hoping to fill out all its sections with new members who are interested in displaying their musical talent in a fun, no stress atmosphere where the musicians can enjoy performing concert band music. We particularly need clarinet, french horn and tuba players. Come to our Tuesday night 7:00 P.M. rehearsals in the annex of Faith Lutheran church or contact Lynne Criss at 239-949-1834.
