One of Lee County’s most respected planners and consultants has agreed to be one of the panelists at the first Town Hall meeting on incorporation being hosted by the Community Council of Lehigh Acres according to their President Tami Baker.
The event will be held on March 1st at the Lehigh Senior High School Auditorium starting at 9:30 AM. It will be held in conjunction with a pancake breakfast which is being sponsored by the Lehigh Senior High School Key Club which will be starting at 7 AM. The breakfast will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage or bacon, and coffee for 5 dollars.
It is anticipated that a series of Town Hall meeting will be sponsored by the Community Council and the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres to inform the residents of what may be needed in order to incorporate the community of Lehigh Acres. District 5 Lee County Commissioner, Frank Mann will also be speaking at this first meeting which will be informational with speakers addressing what the state and county governments will require before voters can decide on incorporation to take place. Speakers will talk about the feasibility and financial studies that are required, along with what steps would have to be taken to successfully run an informational campaign so residents could be apprised of all the issues.
Baker said both the Council and the Kiwanis are remaining neutral on the issue at this time, and that their only interest was promoting the forums which will provide the necessary information to the residents.
Committees will be formed at this meeting for the community to gather and share information.
