In an effort to address the growing crisis of college access and affordability within underserved communities throughout the country, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated announces the launch of its College Achievement Program.
On January 25,and February 1, 2014, The Fort Myers Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi will hold ACT /SAT and FCAT pre-requisite workshops in order to participate in nine week tutorial classes. This opportunity is available to open to all students in Lee County to increase pass rates and improve scores. Students will also receive financial aid information and be encouraged to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Completion of FAFSA will improve college access and retention for students of color.
The Fort Myers Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated will be holding workshops at Dunbar Community School from 10:00-2:30 on January 25th and February 1st. The weekly tutoring sessions will be held on Thursday nights from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, beginning on February 13th. The event is open to all students however, special emphasis is placed on first generational students and we ask all attendees to pre-register at www.kapedfoundation.org. Students are asked to bring their FCAT scores if possible.
The seminar will utilize the resources provided by the US Dept. of Education’s Office of Student Aid, Ed Scott.
