UPDATE:
A State Attorney’s office investigator arrested for a DUI early Wednesday morning is a suspect in a fatal hit and run crash on McGregor Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
As of now, Charles Lawson is only charged with driving under the influence. FHP is conducting tests on Lawson’s vehicle.
Michael Sasen, 48, was hit by a vehicle around 12 a.m. on Wednesday. The driver of the vehicle left the scene.
About a half hour later, as law enforcement was investigating, a vehicle with damage consistent with a collision with a pedestrian drove by.
An investigator with the State Attorney’s office is behind bars.
Charles Lawson has been suspended after he was arrested for DUI last night.
The State Attorney’s Office is working with the Florida Highway Patrol and plans to contact Governor Rick Scott’s office tomorrow.
They’re looking to have the case assigned to another circuit.
