The Search For
Tompkins Is Over

LCSO is looking for Steven Tompkins

The search for Steven Tompkins and a nineteen year old female accompanying him came to an end.  Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes and Fugitive Warrants Units aggressively followed leads to track down, notify and update authorities which resulted in their successful capture in Platte County, Wyoming.  Tompkins is being held for extradition on two counts of second degree murder while Joycelin Luck faces two counts of accessory after the fact.

“I am extremely grateful for our law enforcement partners in Wyoming today,” said Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott.  “To the State Troopers for the safe apprehension of the two in the fuel starved vehicle and the deputies of the Platte County Sheriff who are temporarily detaining these two wanted felons till we can bring them back to Lee County to face justice.”  The Sheriff went on to say, “I have to commend our detectives who worked tirelessly from hour one of this horrific crime.  They’ve done an outstanding job investigating, solving and coordinating to bring this to resolution.”
