Don Hemming, C-Span representative, will be the guest speaker during the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres meeting at 7:30 AM to talk about C-Span and their community outreach programs. The bus will be available for walking tours, questions and answers.
The C-SPAN Bus travels the country to promote and enhance C-SPAN’s extensive resources and public access to the political process. Additionally, the Bus will visit book festivals, high schools, and universities and host students and teachers around the nation, giving them an inside look at C-SPAN’s comprehensive educational and political resources. NEW this year! The C-SPAN Bus will be highlighting C-SPAN’s new series beginning in February 2013, “First Ladies: Influence and Image.” The series will feature the women who served in the role of First Lady over 44 administrations, examining their private lives and the public roles they played in the White House.
Aboard the Bus, visitors will learn about the following programming and resources via interactive technology.

The Bus is equipped with touchscreen computers that demonstrate C-SPAN’s many websites, including the Video Library, C-SPAN Classroom, Congressional Chronicle, and Book TV. Visitors can also test their knowledge of public affairs through quizzes, learn about StudentCam. Visitors can watch the latest C-SPAN programs in HD – tune into live feeds of C-SPAN and C-SPAN2, catch new authors on Book TV, or view historical perspectives on American History TV on C-SPAN3. In the “C-SPAN on the Go” section, you can download C-SPAN podcasts and our Radio App for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry. Use our laptops to connect with us online by browsing C-SPAN’s YouTube page, checking our Twitter feeds, and becoming a fan on Facebook. The Bus is also equipped with a Smartboard and presentation area for discussions on the Video Library, C-SPAN Classroom, and other topics.
