Lehigh Acres Spring Festival
celebrates its 40th birthday in March, 2014

It’s not too early to get the word out about what is planned for the 2014 Lehigh Acres Spring Festival, so folks can mark their calendars.  The annual event will be held once again at the Lehigh Acres Veteran’s Park with festivities beginning on Friday, March 14, 2014 and concluding on Saturday, March 22, 2014.  The theme will be Southern Fried Festival – Still Festive at Forty!

Look for the familiar Lehigh Idol which focuses on solo singers; but because of local interest to include something for the non-solo singers, new in 2014 is “Lehigh Acres’ Got Talent.”  This new talent category will afford a broader opportunity for folks to participate.  If you play harmonica, dance a jig, or twirl baton (just to name a few ideas), this new category would be for you.  Watch for the details and the application forms which will be posted on the Spring Festival website.

Also new for 2014 will be a “Show Car” show for cars, motorcycles, and trucks.  This is planned for Saturday, March 22 and promises to be a real crowd pleaser.  Registration forms and fees will be provided on the website.

And for the local crafters, we are going to have a one-day craft show, also on Saturday, March 22, where those of you who make handcrafted items will be able to sell your wares.  This is for homemade, hand-make craft items.  Again, watch for the registration form, fees, and entry rules which will be posted on the website.

And we are bringing back the best beard competition; the longest, the fullest, and the best overall.  So fellas, you have been given notice so you should have plenty of time to grow the beset beard in town.

Also look forward to the returning stage shows, the carnival rides, the pageants, the horseshoe tournament, and the Grande Parade.  The 2014 Lehigh Acres Spring Festival promises to be the best yet!

There will be more information available as we draw closer to our big 40th birthday party.  Watch for the articles in the local newspapers and keep yourself informed by checking out our website: www.lehighspringfestival.com.
