The FGCU Eagles beat Hartford today in a game nationally televised as part of ESPN’s 24-hour basketball coverage.
The Eagles ended the game on top beating Hartford 65-51.
Last year the Eagles were the first 15 seed to ever make it to the sweet 16 in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament– that run propelled them to the national spotlight.
To put into perspective what that means, the Eagles have 10 games set for national/regional TV this year.
Before that, they had only three such games in the last six years.
