Stella Toomey of On the Spot CPR Training (onthespotcprtraining.com) will offer two-year American Heart Association BLS CPR certification training at the Lehigh Acres Veterans Park Recreation Center located at 55 Homestead Ave. South. Preregistration is required and class size is limited to twelve students. The course is open to those ages 16 and up. Classes are offered once a month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday’s from Sept. 21, 2013 through Aug. 16, 2014. The registration fee is $70.

In this classroom-based course using the newest AHA guidelines, healthcare professionals learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Instructor led format provides students with an enhanced learning environment, and video based instruction ensures consistency. Additionally, the hands-on class format solidifies skills taught during the course.
