Fall Frenzy at LCDAS

Take a new four-legged friend to your next tailgate party!  During September Lee County Domestic Animal Services is offering reduced adoption fees for dogs and cats during their Fall Frenzy adoption promotion.  Dogs 40 lbs. and over are just $40.  Cats six months and older may be adopted for $25.  Adopters may also get a second cat free.

There are several ways to join in spirit of Fall Frenzy at LCDAS.  Hundreds of great pets are available for adoption.  To select a new friend, adopters just need to visit the shelter at 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, next to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, off Six Mile Cypress Pkwy.  Volunteers are available to help adopters choose the pet that best fits their lifestyle.  Adoption applications may be submitted online at http://www.LeeLostPets.com or at the shelter.  Pets currently available may be viewed online.  The website updates hourly.  Adoption hours are Monday through Saturday, 11:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Pet lovers who are not able to adopt can help promote the shelter pets by sending out emails or by liking their favorites on Facebook and sharing them with friends.  Donations to the Animal Care Trust Fund help sick, injured, and infant pets that need care to help them get ready for adoption.

The adoption fee for all pets includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, de-worming, heartworm test for dogs six months or older, feline aids and leukemia test for cats, a Lee County license for pets three months or older, training DVD, Behavior Help Line, Microchip Pet ID, and a 10-day Health Guarantee.  The total adoption package is valued at more than $500.

Photos and information about lost pets or pets for adoption are available on the agency’s website at http://www.leelostpets.com.  Pet information on the website updates hourly.
