Will the Lehigh Acres
Community Planning Panel Disband?

At the last LACPP meeting, the panel had a long discussion about the possibility folding up into the Community Council of Lehigh Acres.

Lee County Commissioner Frank Mann was at the meeting and said “this panel has done your mission and it’s time to change your mission or fold up into another group such as the Community Council.”

Frank LaRosa a long term panel member said “the community council has never done what this panel has done for the community.”

According to Mann it’s time to have fewer voices coming down to the county office.

LaRosa went on and on, “I’m the one that got Veteran Park in Lehigh Acres, I’m the one who named the pee wee football teams the Lehigh Raiders.”

Mohammad Yasin member of the panel said, “We need to be one group for the betterment of the community.”

Tonda Soisson-Lawson member of the panel said, “We tried the “One Voice” program which I pay out of my own pocket but the community just cannot check their ego’s or the problems of the past at the door.”

It was discussed that the members of the panel that would like to attend the Community Council meeting scheduled for Monday night at 6:30 p.m. at the community room at the Sheriff’s substation on Homestead Rd.

According to one of the Vice Presidents of the Community Council there will be agenda item on Monday night meeting about the LACPP.
