Earlier this year Lee County Commissioners supported a decrease in impact fees. This July, three out of five Lee County Commissioners voted to increase property taxes by up to $58.82 on every $100,000 in taxable value for the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1. Despite the fact that property values are on the rise and our county would have still brought in more than the previous year, the weight of an increase in taxes will fall on the shoulders of taxpayers once again.
