Some people believe we don’t need to hold politicians to impossibly high moral standards. And others believe we need impossibly high moral standards because we have politicians.
However politicians included, should have the moral obligation to uphold in their behavior what they profess and claim to believe and by which sense, and search for clarity of said sense, of right and wrong they honestly believe is valid and, in their deepest of hearts, decent.
Politicians should be held to a higher moral standard, and they should be held personally accountable for any improprieties and indiscretions that involve them, on any level. We, the citizens, are supposed to live up to a certain moral and legal conduct, and therefore our elected leaders should be setting the examples. Politicians need to be governed in the exact same manner that the average taxpayer is, and they should never be allowed leniency for acts that would land the public in hot water.
i believe we should and it has been proven all over the country…many politicians have resigned and something else. we even had what a local lee county commissioner do something wrong last yr. im sure the same should be said of the local fire commissioner..it sure is strange that only this lehigh gazette had the news, we dont see it in any other media how come i ask is it being hidden…
