According the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, two Lehigh Acres men are facing drug charges after deputies said they found a marijuana grow operation including 75 adult plants.
Jesus Gabriel Mercado-Olavarria, 31, and Eduardo Cruz, 27, are facing charges of marijuana producing, marijuana trafficking, possession of drug equipment and marijuana possession with intent to sell.
LCSO Deputies received an anonymous tip Thursday about a possible grow house at 4307 E. 15th Ave and discovered several indicators the residence was being used as a grow house, according to a LCSO report.
Investigators said Cruz, the home owner, met them outside with a marijuana cigar in his hand and told the detective “he was not a real officer.”
The detective said he was able to see into the house through the open front door and observe a gun and marijuana on a countertop inside.
After getting a search warrant, detectives searched the residence and found adult marijuana plants, bags of marijuana, a .22 caliber gun, according to the LCSO report.
Both men were taken into custody.
