A teenager has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after deputies said she pulled a knife on her mother during a dispute over a chicken dinner.
Lee County Deputies said the teen, identified as 15-year-old (name withheld by the Gazette because of age) was in her kitchen eating chicken that was supposed to be for the family dinner when her mother confronted her about saving some for the rest of the family.
The two started fighting, when minors sister tried to intervene, prompting the minor to grab a small kitchen knife and threaten to “kill them all,” according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies said the minor’s mother was cut on the underside of her right forearm during the altercation, but she declined medical attention.
The minor left the residence before deputies arrived. She was later located and taken into custody.
