The Lee County School Board voted to eliminate 35 school administrator positions.
The 3-2 vote happened after a request from incoming Superintendent Dr. Nancy Graham.
Board chairperson Mary Fischer supported the move.
The contracts of those in the eliminated positions are due to expire on July 1.
Graham will get to decide how to structure her administrative team and who will be hired for those positions – and she could re-hire some of those affected by this move.
But board members Cathleen Morgan and Don Armstrong voted against eliminating the positions, saying it sends the wrong message.
The positions eliminated include:

Director: Personnel Services – Ms. Georgianna McDaniel
Director: Professional Standards and Equity – Ms. Ranice Monroe
